Duterte has no right to become president – De Lima
Duterte has no privilege to wind up the president, says the newly elected Senator, past Commission on Human Rights (CHR) administrator and Justice secretary Leila de Lima.
According to Philippine Daily Inquirer, Leila De Lima said in a press conference:
“In the event that you have no admiration for human rights, you likewise have no appreciation for the law. So in what capacity would he be able to lead our nation if that is his conviction?”
“I will continue to fight him because [violating human rights] is wrong and a person who has no respect for human rights has no right to lead the country.”
The Liberal Party (LP) representative was suggesting president-elect Rodrigo Duterte, who in his latest swagger flooding explanation promised to implement open executions, the kind that was done several years ago against criminals. This has been already been said publicly even before Duterte filed for candidacy for president.
This apparently doesn’t sell with De LIma.
